          Complex Number and Quadratic equation .
                             &Linear Inequalities .

Higher thinking Question (3-4 Marks)

Que.1

Solve 2x2
– (3 + 7i) x – (3 – 9i) = 0

Solution:-

x=(3+7i+5i-3)/4 .       and .             x=2i+6/4

x=12i/4 .                       and.            x=2(i+3)/4

x=3i.                             and.             x=i+3/2

Que.2

Evaluate x4
– 4x3
+ 4x2
+ 8x + 44,
When x = 3 + 2i

Solution:-

Que.3

If
(1+i/1-i)m=1,
Then find the least integral value.

Solution:-

                                                     Chapter-6
                                           Linear Inequalities

Que.1

A company manufactures cassettes and its cost and revenue
functions are C(x) = 26000 + 30x and R(x) = 43x respectively,
where x is number of cassettes produced and sold in a week.
How many cassettes must be sold per week to realise some
profit.

Solution

Que.2

While drilling a hole in the earth, it was found that the
temperature (T°C) at x km below the surface of the earth was
given by T = 30 + 25(x – 3), when 3 ≤ x ≤ 15.
Between which depths will the temperature be between 200°C
and 300°C?

Solution:-

Que.3

The water acidity in a pool is considered normal when the
average PH reading of three daily measurements is between
7.2 and 7.8. If the first two PH reading are 7.48 and 7.85. Find
the range of PH value for the 3rd reading that will result in acidity
level being normal.

Solution:-

Que. 4

In the first four paper each of 100 mark,Rishi got 95,72,73,83 marks.
If he wants an average of greater than or equal to 75 marks and less
Than 80 marks,find the range of marks he should score in 5th paper.

Solution:-

Que.5

Find all pairs of consecutive even positive integers,both of which are larger than 5 such that their sum is less than 23.

Solution:-

Que.6

Find all pairs of consecutive odd positive integers both of which are smaller than 10 such that their sum is more than 11.

Solution:-
